Best Golf Courses in Sedona
Sedona isn’t as renowned as Scottsdale for golf, but it has some great courses and this is the Arizona Travel Guide’s pick of the best golf courses in Sedona.
One thing Sedona has in its favor as a golfing destination is the backdrops. Sedona’s renowned stunning scenery and Red Rocks Country landscape means that there are some brilliant settings for golf courses.
When to Golf in Sedona
Sedona of course enjoys that wonderful Arizona climate, meaning that you can golf almost all-year-round. In December and January it can fall below freezing at night, so you might experience some brisk starts if you’re an early golfer. It will probably warm up into the 50s later in the day. Snow is uncommon but does happen.
In summer you will definitely want to be an early-morning golfer, as temperatures can soar into the 90s and even the 100s. For a few weeks from about early July Sedona does get the summer monsoons, common in many parts of Arizona. These are short but very intense rainstorms, which can also have thunder and lightning, and you don’t really want to be out on the golf course during these summer storms.
Spring and fall are the absolute best times for golfing in Sedona. In an average year, temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s for weeks at a time, and you’ll be able to golf for days on end. There will be a handful of rainy days each month, but they shouldn’t make too much of an interruption.
